Katie Hardesty

From a young age, Katie Hardesty knew she was destined to work in education. Katie grew up in Greenfield, WI and attended the Whitnall School District. As a teenager, she began working at YMCA summer day camps starting as a camp counselor and spending her last summer there as assistant camp director. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree and teaching license from Carroll College (now University). 

Katie began working in the Appleton Area School District in 2001 and has taught at Ferber Elementary, Classical School, and Wilson and Einstein Middle Schools. She earned her Masters of Art degree from Marian College. Katie currently serves as the Principal of Houdini Elementary School.  

Katie loves spending time with her family, running, traveling and reading.

Nicole Kiplin

Nicole grew up in Whitelaw, WI and attended the Valders Area School District. Nicole has always had a love for children and desire to help others. When she was younger, she was very involved in community outreach, youth camps, and being a youth mentor. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree and teaching license from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh, with a minor in language arts. 

Nicole began working in the Appleton Area School District in 2012 as a fourth grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary. She also served the district as a Summer School Coordinator for Richmond Elementary and social studies curriculum writer. She earned her Masters of Education in Administration & Supervision and Curriculum Development degree from National Louis University out of Chicago. 

Nicole and her husband have two young daughters. Nicole loves spending time outside, reading, and going to the Appleton Downtown Farm Market. She is very excited and honored to be the Dean of Students at Houdini!
