Barnes and Noble Event –  OPEN
Coordinate one day event at Barnes & Noble in early December, including readers, performers, and gift wrapping volunteers.

Box Tops For Education (All Year) – Heidi Struensee
Collection and redemption of pouches to support Houdini’s Starfish Fund. 

City Wide Parent Network (All Year) – Jill Georger
Houdini PTO’s representative to the Appleton City Wide Parent Network

Scholastic book sales to parents, staff, and students, proceeds benefit the school and classroom libraries.

Fall Parent/Teacher Conference Meals (October) – Jill Gill
Meals provided by Houdini families to the teachers and staff during conferences

Family Gym Night - Games and sports equipment available one night a week in the school gym for Houdini families

Family Nights Out (All Year) – Heidi Struensee & Jennifer Freese
Houdini families, friends, and relatives can enjoy a night out to eat once a month at a local restaurant, see friends, and proceeds benefit our Houdini PTO programs

FLIP (January & February) – Ann Lynch
Six weeks of foreign language instruction for students

Half-Price Book Fair – June Contreras & Christi Iversen

Healthy Kids (All Year) – Houdini Staff
Supports programs such as “Caught Doing Something Good” and “Peer Mediation”

Kindergarten Preview (May) – Jamie Boorum & Christi Iversen
An introduction to Houdini Elementary for incoming kindergartners

Knowledge-A-Thon (KAT) (February) –  June Contreras & Stephanie Edwards OPEN 2017-18 School Year
Houdini students participate in an one day knowledge bowl with questions from in-class instruction and take-home questions, pledges are used to support PTO programs and events

Membership (All Year) – Amy VanStraten

Soft cover yearbook sold to families with student pictures and candid photos

New Family Ambassadors –

Reading Incentives (All Year) – Deb Fitzpatrick
A whole school reading program to encourage students to read outside of school

Safety Patrol (All Year) – Houdini Staff
Sixth grade students assist school crossing guards in safety on the playground and parking lot before and after school

School Programs (All Year) – Houdini Staff
School programs, such as Opera for the Young, Sixth Grade Overnight, Plymouth Plantation, and Papermaking Artist in Residence, supported by funds from PTO programs
