Spring fever sets in, and students (and sometimes parents) may start to feel less motivated to maintain strong school attendance. However, consistent attendance remains just as important in the final months of the school year as it is at the beginning.

Since 1983, the Mielke Educator of the Year Awards, funded by the Mielke Family Foundation, have celebrated exceptional educators within the AASD community. This year, we’re excited to introduce a new category: Mielke Support Staff of the Year, recognizing the invaluable contributions of administrative assistants, ASU, custodial & maintenance staff, paraprofessionals, and substitutes!

We encourage your students to share safety concerns with a trusted adult or, when needed, use SUSO to confidentially report issues that affect their well-being. SUSO’s Resource Center operates 24/7, ensuring every report is taken seriously
